Award recipients for financial aid must meet the following requirements:

  • Serve or show a calling to serve in vocational ministry
  • Be an active member of an American Baptist Church in West Virginia
  • Articulate a clear and compelling call to serve the American Baptist Churches of the West Virginia Baptist Convention or serve an ABC mission-supported endeavor following the completion of their education

Scholarships may be granted for both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Scholarships are also available for those in online programs or other hybrid programs at recognized institutions of learning.

Field of study does not matter so long as the applicant can explain how it will help them in ministerial pursuits.

Preference is given to students who are members of American Baptist churches in the West Virginia Baptist Convention and to those attending Alderson Broaddus University and Palmer Theological Seminary (including the WV Extension located at Parchment Valley Conference Center).

Scholarships and grants may also be available to those currently in vocational ministry for continuing education with practical applications to their current ministry opportunities.
